Rail Roadways Design - Cross Section Software Help
Railway track designing is very easy using ESurvey CADD section module. Typically, there are 3 types of railway sections that are widely required.
a. Banking section
b. Cutting section
c. Doubling section
These cross sections can be derived using CS Template and Assembly features of ESurvey Section.
a. Creating Banking Section
Create new ESurvey Section file and import existing ground levels from Excel or CAD drawing to ESurvey CADD
Go to CS Template menu to click triple dotted button to CS template name to design required template
Create railway banking template
Create blanket template
Create centre line template
Join all the 3 template in 'Assembly'
Apply 'Banking(Assembly)' : in Apply CS Template / Assembly window to all cross sections
Go to 'Preview' and select any CS Sections Banking Assembly
Although cross section gets generated as per requirement, it is not possible to get the area calculation at this stage. To get the area calculation, we need to create one merged layer between proposed and blanket
Go to Modify->Derive CS layers, select merge option from a tree view, give layer name as EW, select layer41 as a resultant layer. Select the first layer as 'Formation' and Second layer 'BW Bottom' layer. Select check box 'if overlap Consider 2nd Layer points' and 'Save' it.
9. To display area of earthwork and blanketing
Go to Settings->Area Calculation-> create all required area report combination. That is, create one combination between Ground and Layer 41 for Earthwork and second between BW bottom and Formation layer.
To display area calculation in Cross Section Drawing, you need to do another setting. Go to 'Settings' option in toolbar. 'Section Display (CS)' option in Project Setting tree view, select the checkbox of 'Print AreaCalculation', summary table and 'Save' it.
11. When you 'Preview' the Section, you can see the railway banking cross section with area report table
Similarly, you can design for railway cutting section and doubling cross section.
