Derive Longitudinal Section - Cross Section Software Help



Derive layer feature is one of the important features in ESurvey CADD section module, Derive layer means,create a new layer data from the reference of existing data.

Following are the various Derive LS Layers which can be created in section module

1 Gradient Shown Gradient for selected LS Layer
2 Difference Display Difference between two LS layer Data
3 Layer Point Create LS for Selected CS Layer point
4 CS Template Create LS for Selected CS Template Point
Derive LS Layer Gradient

For example, in the sample L section shown below, you want to display the gradient of the layer. In such cases, Derive LS Layer can be used to display Gradient of selected layer.

1. Go to 'Derive LS Layers' from 'Modify' menu

2. Select 'Gradient' option from the 'Layer Types' tree view. Click on the ‘New’ button and specify a layer Name, select 'Resultant Layer' as 'Layer 41'. select 'Gradient of' layer as ‘Ground’ then 'Save' it.

3. Close ‘Derive Layers LS ’ window. In the LS Preview screen, you can see that Layer 41 has ground Gradient values.

Similarly, other Derive LS layer can be used as and when required.
