Derive Layer CS - Extrapolate - Cross Section Software Help
Derive layer feature is one of the important features in ESurvey CADD. Derive layer means, create a new layer data from the reference of existing layer data.
In this example, to get the complete area calculation, you need to extrapolate the formation layer values which are shorter compared to the ground layer. From the below example drawing layer 21 and OGL area to be calculated. So we need to extrapolate layer 21 till OGL layer.
1. Go to 'Derive CS Layers' under 'Modify' menu
2. Select 'Extrapolate' option from the tree view. Click on the ‘New’ button and specify a layer Name as 'OGL-21' and select Resultant Layer as ‘Layer 41'. Now select the Extrapolate Layer as ‘Layer 21' and To match layer as ‘OGL’ and select check box 'Stop if intersects' then 'Save' it. Close 'Derive CS Layers’ window.
3. In the 'Preview' screen, you can see that Layer 41 is extrapolated. Additional formation level values will match the width of the OGL layer. Now you can take quantity between OGL and Layer 41
