Derive Layer CS - Join - Cross Section Software Help


Derive layer feature is one of the important features in ESurvey CADD section module. Derive layer means,  create a new layer data from the reference of existing data.

For example, In the sample cross section below, you are not getting the correct quantity as the layer 1 data is not taken up to the required extent. In such cases, Derive CS Join layer can be used. Which will Join the last value of the first layer to match the end point of the second layer.

1. Go to 'Derive CS layers' under 'Modify' menu.

2. Select 'Join' option from the tree view. Click on the ‘New’ button and specify a layer name as 'Join' and select Resultant Layer as 'Layer 41'. Now select the Ends of layer as ‘Layer 1’ and Join to layer as ‘Layer 2’ then 'Save' it. Close ‘Derive Layer CS’ window.

3. In the 'Preview' screen, you can see that Layer 41 is created which has values of Layer 1 and additional 2 points which will join Layer 2. Now you can take quantity report between Layer 2 and Layer 41
