Derive Layer CS - Gradient - Cross Section Software Help


Derive layer feature is one of the important features in ESurvey CADD section module, Derive layer means,  create a new layer data from the reference of existing data.

For example, in the sample cross section below, you can see the cross section with ground level data. To display a gradient of ground you can use derive CS gradient layer.

1. Open 'Derive CS Layers' from 'Modify' menu.

2. Select 'Gradient' option from the Layer Type tree view.Click 'New' button and give derive layer Name as 'OGl Gradient', select resultant layer as Layer 41, then select Gradient of 'Layer 1' layer and click 'Save' button.

3. Now close 'Derive CS layers' window and select any cross section you can see the result in drawing like below layer41 is created for display Gradient of Layer 1.

You can note that cross section generated has values representing Gradient of Layer 1.
