Derive Layer CS - Extend - Cross Section Software Help


Derive layer feature is one of the important features in ESurvey CADD section module. Derive layer means, create a new layer data from the reference of existing data.

For example, In below shown sample cross section, you are not getting the correct quantity as the ground data is not taken up to the required extent. In such cases, Derive CS Extend layer feature can be used which will extend the last segment of the ground layer to match the width of layer 21.

1. Go to 'Derive CS Layers' under 'Modify' menu.

2. Select 'Extend' option from the tree view. Click on the ‘New’ button and specify a name say 'OGL-layer21'. Select Resultant Layer as 'Layer 41'. Then select the Extend Layer as ‘OGL’ layer and To match layer as ‘Layer 21’ then 'Save' it.

3. Close ‘Derive Layer CS’ window. In the 'Preview' screen, you can see that Layer 41 has a newly derived layer which helps to get required quantity.

4. Now you can take quantity report between Layer 41 and Layer 21.
