Derive Layer CS - Distance - Cross Section Software Help
Derive layer feature is one of the important feature in ESurvey CADD section module, Derive layer means, create a new layer data from the reference of existing data.
For example, in below shown sample cross section, distance column has both distances as per ground levels and formation level together. To display distances of ground levels and distances of formation level separately you have to use derive distance layer.
In ESurvey CADD by default, it will display distance of all the layers in offset row. In some project, you may require showing the distances of specific layers separately.
1. Go to 'Derive CS Layers' from 'Modify' menu
2. Select 'Distance' option from the Layer Type tree view.Click 'New' button and give derive layer Name, select a resultant layer as 'Layer 41', then select Ground layer and click 'Save' button. Likewise, you create derive layer 42 to represent the distances of 'Road Top' layer.
3. Now close 'Derive layers CS' window and select any cross section in 'Preview' window. You can see the result in drawing like below, layer41 and layer42 are created for display distance of Ground and Road top respectively.
