ESurvey CADD allows you to change almost all the properties of cross sections
Layer Properties – Caption, Projection Line, Line type, Value Precision, Height of Band, Order of Layer
Display Properties – Header, Footer, Graph, Scale, Area Calculation Table
Label Properties – Font, Contour, Text Height
1. Drawing Scale:
When you create a new project in ESurvey CADD, by default horizontal scale and vertical scale for cross sections will be 1:100 and 1:100. Whereas for longitudinal section it will be 1:1000 and 1:100. Depending on project requirement you can change scale factor. Select ‘Settings’ icon from the toolbar and select ‘Basic’ item from settings tree view and in ‘Basic’ tab you can change drawing scale.

2. Area Calculation:
By default Layer 1 and Layer 2 are area calculation layers. You can change area calculation layers in Basic Settings. The trapezoidal method of area calculation is set by default. If required, you can set nett area calculation method. For volume calculation, The trapezoidal method is a default and if required simpsons 1/3rd method can be set.
After selecting area calculation and volume calculation method, click save to apply changed settings
3. Datum Precision:
Datum will be automatically derived using cross section data by the program. It will round off to nearest 0.2 M from the minimum value. A similar program will round off the datum to nearest 1 M value of the minimum value in longitudinal section data. You can change default datum rounding off values from 0.2 and 1 to preferred value once again in the basic settings tab.

4. Layer Properties:
You can individually change cross section and longitudinal section layer properties. You can change the layer name – program will give the layer name as Layer 1, Layer 2 – You can rename it to 'Ground Levels', 'Formation Levels' Etc. If you want projection line from each level of the cross section, you can set it. You can set the line type for each cross section layer. You can change the cross section line colour, height of the band and precision of value to be displayed in the band.
You can also change the order of layer bands.
5. Display Properties:
You can enable graph with the specified scale. You can display footer with prefix and suffix to change the number. You can set display header instead of the footer for showing the chainage number. You can control how the chainage number has to display when the chainage value is more than 1000. You can print labels indicating the horizontal scale and vertical scale in header or footer.

6. Lable Properties:
You can set font, height, width and color of each of the cross section elements in lable tab.
The software will automatically calculate the datum depending on the datum precision setting. Further, you are allowed to specify a datum for each cross section and lock it. Once you lock datum value, the software will not automatically calculate the datum.
8. Section Names:
By default chainage, a number will be the section name. However, ESurvey CADD further allows you to change the section name. You can give a custom name for each cross section.

In addition to all these settings, you can further control some rarely used cross section properties such as row header width, rounding off values when importing the data, drawing background colour Etc.
