Under Select, you can initiate jump to text of same layer and other text. Select entities within a polygon.

1. INITIATE JUMP TO NEXT TEXT OF THE  SAME LAYER (JTS) AND JUMP TO NEXT TEXT (JTT)

Menu: Initiate jump to next Text of same Layer (JTS) and Jump to Next Text (JTT)

Functionality: To navigate from one text to another text of a particular layer with a given zoom factor.

Description: When you want to examine the entities around texts in a drawing, there is a need to move from text to text. The ‘JTT’ command will be helpful in such cases. Unlike other lisp commands, JTS and JTT are used in combination. That is to start with ‘JTS’ will initialize the jump, where you have to select a text. Next ‘JTT’ command will navigate to next text of the same layerYou can continue to visit the next texts by using ‘JTT’ command till all the texts of that layer are zoomed.

Procedure:
1. Type ‘JTS’ at the command prompt.
2. Pick the text for the layer: Select the text entity to pick the respective layer.
3. Enter The Zoom Factor: Enter a value of zoom factor.
4. Type ‘JTT’ at the command prompt [Repeat the command until you visit all the texts of specified layer].

2. SELECT ENTITIES WITHIN THE POLYGON (WINDOW) (SWP)

Menu: Select entities within the Polygon (window) (SWP)

Functionality: To select objects within the selected polygon.

Description: In most cases boundary of an area that is being surveyed is zigzag. It is a common requirement to select the entities within a particular Boundary in AutoCAD. AutoCAD “select” command allows selecting entities with window polygon option to address this issue. But, selecting 40 points of the boundaries using the windows polygon option is difficult. Hence using ‘SWP’ command you  can select a specific type of entities within selected polygon boundary.

Procedure:
1. Type ‘SWP’ at the command prompt.
2. Select the closed polyline boundary for window polygon selection of text: Select the polygon.
3. Type the entity type: Specify the entity type (Refer instructions given by lisp). [Note: Ensure that whole boundary is visible on the screen when running this lisp]

3. SELECT ENTITIES WITHIN THE POLYGON (CROSSING) (SCP)

Menu: Select entities within the Polygon (Crossing) (SCP)

Functionality: To select the objects within and touching the selected polygon.

Description: In most cases boundary of an area that is being surveyed is zigzag. It is a common requirement to select the entities within a particular Boundary in AutoCAD. The AutoCAD “select” command allows selecting entities with crossing polygon option to address this issue. But say, selecting 40 points of the boundaries using the crossing polygon option is difficult. Hence using ‘SCP’ command you can select a specific type of entities within selected polygon boundary.

Procedure:
1. Type ‘SCP’ at the command prompt.
2. Select the closed polyline boundary for window polygon selection of text: Select the polygon.
3. Type the entity type: Specify the entity type (Refer instructions given by lisp). [Note: Ensure that whole boundary is visible on screen when running this lisp]

4. SELECT TEXT WITH SAME VALUE IN THE DRAWING (SST)

Menu: Select Text with Same value in the drawing (SST)

Functionality: To select the texts having specified text among the selected texts.

Description: Search is a very important tool in any Computer application. Google became famous with the same Concept. The ‘SSX’ and quick select Lisp commands of AutoCAD are very useful lisp for selecting entities with similar properties. ‘SSX’ command does not address all the selection issues. For example, let us say one wants to select all the text in the drawing having ‘Survey No.’ Prefix or having ‘M’ as a suffix. To select texts depending on Query of Text Caption, use ‘SST’ command. ‘SST’ command is a very powerful command for text caption based search and makes your search easy.

Procedure:
1. Type ‘SST’ at the command prompt.
2. Starting with / Ending with / Exact match (not case sensitive) / <Containing>: Specify one of the 4 options.
3. Type the Search String: Specify Search Criteria.
4. Select Entities:  Select the texts for matching search criteria.
5. Type New Layer Name for which text to be moved: Specify the layer name.

5. SELECT TEXTS WITH ZERO NUMERIC VALUE (ZTV)

Menu: Select Texts with Zero numeric value (ZTV)

Functionality: To select the texts having their numeric values as zero.

Description: Let us assume that you have moved some texts into a layer which consists of only elevations. Now, identifying such texts and moving them back to the correct layer is a difficult and time consuming task but you can use the ‘ZTV’ command, which can select all the texts having other than numeric values in the caption easily.

Procedure:
1. Type ‘ZTV’ at the command prompt.
2. Select Entities: Select all the texts among which texts with zero numeric value are to be selected.
